HOW TO: Watch DVDs on your Xperia

From: Jack H. Darby keyword: How to put DVD to Sony Xperia

This a nice, simple-to-follow guide, that will tell everyone how to put their beloved DVDs onto their new Sony Xperia X1 mobile phones

Step 1

Download a program called Daniusoft DVD Ripper... However, you could also try some other programs... But I found this one to work best for me so far. It isn't free though, but I'm pretty dámn sure if anyone can afford an Xperia, they should be able to afford this. (No, I'm not affiliated with the author)

Once you've loaded up the program, just select your DVD's location by using the "Add" button. (In my case, it is in the E:\ drive)

Step 2

DRM? That is the music industry's decision in audio files.

In video, I think Apple would like to keep DRM for rentals but don't think it needs to use it for video purchases.

Apple has publicly denounced it and sells music free of DRM where it can. Other MP3 players can play DRM-free AAC music purchased at the iTunes Music Store. Apple's iPod can play DRM free MP3's from all of the major studios from Amazon.

Find the correct parts you want to rip... In my case, my DVD contains a series of comedy episodes... As you can see, I've selected the episode I want to rip (In my case, this DVD has split up this episode into 5 parts, so I'll have to make sure I tick the box "merge into one file"). For a few movies, sometimes you only need to rip one chapter/ part etc. It depends on what movie you choose really. Also, disable subtitles, I doubt you will need them.

This program has a handy preview feature, for finding the right parts to rip, as you can see in the screenshot

I tried Xilisoft Ultimate, Aimersoft, they are good ones, but your is by far the best DVD Ripper program today. Is the only one totally Vista compatible.

I bought it and I am very satisfied.

Step 3

Click on "Settings" and select "MP4 AVC", which is under the "Format Preset" menu.

Step 4

  • 1. You selected this from before
  • 2. Manually type in 480*260 (800*480 lags)
  • 3. Select 25 Frames Per Second for UK DVDs or 30FPS for US DVDs.
  • 4. 512kbps is just fine. Any less will result in cráppy video quality.
  • 5. Select mono, just incase you want to share headphones with someone lol. Otherwise, I guess you might as well select Stereo.
  • 6. Set sound quality to 128kbps. This is sufficient. Any less will not sound great.

FINAL STEP

Just click "Start"!

Other notes:

Once you've clicked "Start", disable the preview, it may help speed up the whole process.

If you're doing a movie, this could take ages... I recommend you leave your computer to do it overnight, and let tick the

box that makes the program switch off your computer once completed.

Once it's all done, simply find your new MP4 file, and put it onto your phone's memory card! Watch the movie on Windows Media Player, and set it to "full screen" or something.

Don't do anything illegal (Well, just don't talk about it here). By the way, there are no cracks for this program, so you'll have to buy it (unless you find an easy, good alternative that's free.)

Sounds Good?
